Susan King is the bestselling, award-winning author of thirty-plus historical novels and novellas, a nonfiction history, along with dozens of articles on writing and education. Her first book, The Black Thorne’s Rose, was inspired by her dissertation research in medieval art history. Susan is a private school teacher, a former university lecturer in art history, and a founding member of the long-running author blog “Word Wenches”. She holds a B.A. in studio art and English literature, an M.A. in art history, and Ph.D./ABD in medieval art history, and has master-level certification in Reiki and Qigong. Raised in Upstate New York, she lives in Maryland with her expanding family.
